Olen Reuyters (pronounced 'Roy-terz') is a prospective wide receiver for the UFFL.
History
Olen Reuyters was born to a moderate-sized family of six in the Staten Island borough of New York city. Informally, his family worked in the mills, and he was an average student - but he did not have much patience for the schoolwork and eventually fell into the lower rungs of public schooling in New York. He often mentions how he lucked out at this age, or he would have become a 'druggie' - his family was unable to maintain their positions after the mill closed during middle school, so they moved to the Jersey suburbs. Here, he was ridiculed for his "dirty species" and odd name. The species-ism only angered Olen, who wanted nothing from his classmates but to fit in and be seen as a cool guy. This is undeniably hard for a rat to accomplish. So, he joined as many sports as he could. Football happened to be one of those that, while he was not extraordinary at the sport, he felt satisfaction in the athleticism and playfulness of football.
Olen was much better at playing tennis, and in high school he had the opportunity to take a scholarship to New York Vernacular University (NYVU). However, he just didn't see the interest in the sport, and so he forgave all scholarship money and self-afforded his trip to Columbus, Ohio to attend Faxwell College.
Here, on a thoughtless decision, he tried out for the 2nd-division football team. One year later, he was starting at the wide receiver position and making big plays. His quick ability to run in tennis after the ball helped train him well for football; he achieved over 1300 yards receiving in his senior year, and caught 6 touchdowns. Most coaches hailed him most for his ability to never fumble. A fast and squirmy rat is hard to catch! Although there weren't championships involved in his collegiate career, he didn't fumble even once his entire playing time at Faxwell.
Most talent searchers appreciate and praise his true talent on the field. However, they are unable to place him in the top tier because of his intelligence scores on exams and his ability to learn playbooks efficiently.
Olen's statement: "I pledge my heart to whatever team - just give me a chance. I don't beg, I don't play dirty, I just play. That's all you want, right? Forget about those cool cats - forget about those guys from Chicago - they're just in it for the money. I wanna give my ma and pa a good home."
