Biography
Mélanie is a big girl. But she hasn't never had a problem with it. At a young age she always wanted to be a football player, and due to her size, she figured she would be doing great over at the offensive line. At a moment of her time, she didn't had much inspirations for any typical type of work in her future, but she always loved watching football on TV and was soon becoming quite the expert.
As soon as high school rolled on, she was surprising alot of coaches with her knowledge of the game, even going as far as giving her a chance to call some plays. Being on the offensive line, she eventually ended up having a knack in reading the defense in front of her and help her team making quick changes on the fly. She soon became the captain of her team, which led to regional success.
When came time to head to college, there was no question where she wanted to head into. UAL, her hometown college, and what's has been a Canadian college powerhouse for the past decades. And the College welcomed her with open arms. Studying in a physical education program, Poirier didn't waste any time showing her talent and became a pillar to Laval's fantastic offensive line. She dominated the position with rapid thinking, sharp scrimmage technique and good leg stretch to keep the defense at bay. Being instrumental to the recent Duvanier titles of Laval during her college tenure, she earned several nods making the all-Canadian college team of the year of 3 consecutive occasions. While obviously going to need to gain muscle mass to be able to compete regularly against top UFFL Defensive players coming at her. You can't deny that Mélanie brilliant mind and passion for the sport make her a diamond in the rough, especially in a particular position where teams will be needing to stock up in order to compete for a Furbowl title.
Rookie Scouting Report
Brock Brezniski: I really like Melanie’s approach to the game. A technically sound lineman who has the intelligence to read the defense and call out protections in a valuable asset in today’s game, and she does have the size to be an anchor in the middle of a UFFL line. One of, if not the best OL in a draft full of them, and she has star potential written all over her.
