Capital Stadium is the home of the North Florida Renegades of the United Furry Football League.
History
The stadium was built in 1977 as joint venue for Tallahassee public high schools and originally had a capacity of 5,000. Over the years, seating has more than doubled to accommodate the growing popularity of the Renegades, but still has remained tiny compared to professional sports standards. Despite its claim as the smallest stadium in the UFFL, Capital Stadium has a reputation for being one of the toughest places to play. During sellouts, which occur regularly, fans with designated standing section tickets line the fences on all sides of the field. The combination of a passionate fanbase and close proximity to the field of play make the noise level deafening for opposing teams. There have been talks about renovating and expanding the structure, but for now Capital Stadium remains a hometown treasure.
