Biography
From the city of Topeka, Kansas, Clem Cooper was not going to originally be a football player, but after getting recruited to be a punter in High School, Clem Cooper was not going to be taking another career path.
Growing up, Clem was not exactly the most passionate about playing American Football. He thought it was brutish and too rough for someone like him to play in. No, during his early years. Clem mainly played Soccer but even then, That was not what Clem was the most passionate about. No, Clem was the most passionate about his talent of Bell Ringing…
Yes, Bell Ringing. Thanks to his family being known for their Bell Ringing for generations, It was very likely for Clem to continue in their footsteps. However, Clem was also good at Soccer during his adolescence though Clem would still continue on with his path to a career of bell ringing. That was until High School. After getting scouted by his High School’s Football Coach during one of the team’s matches, The Coach gave Clem a tryout as Punter for the team.
While Clem was not the most receptive to the tryout at first, Thanks to the encouragement from his friends and teammates. He would take the Tryout. While Clem would think that he wouldn’t make the team, Clem would impress the coaches and get the spot as Punter on the High School Team. Considering that Clem was not a big fan of the sport at first, Clem was quite scared that he would get rocked by defenders but after a few games, His jitters soothed and he got more confident on the field.
As his high school career continued, He would end up breaking records in Kansas for Punting and it would get him noticed by Central Eastern Kansas and would be picked up by the college for his punting ability but not after a debate between whether to continue on with his Bell Ringing or to go down this new path, He would decide to follow the football path. After 4 years in College, Clem is now in the UFFL Draft Pool and is hoping to make an impact in his new field of work.
Evaluation
3 stars. Good range and placement. Kinda small, even for a kicker. Never heard of bell-ringing before, but I do remember seeing Clem ring the bell of a kick returner during his junior season at CEKU! Not bad for someone who was nervous about getting hit! Still, I’m not so sure about using one of my first two picks on a punter. Quality kicking and hangtime on kicks.
