Sandeep Thomas is a Wide Receiver for the Baltimore Ponies in the UFFL.

Biography

Hyderabad is in the heart of India, and from here it was Sandeep's non-traditional Christian faith background that ruled his life. That was, until he fell under the care of his relatives, who had been planning a move to America and unwillingly dragged Sandeep to Minneapolis when he was a teenager. These relatives were westernized and wanted the young ibex to find his footing in team sports to make friends at school (and impress the girls.) And while the local coaches feared that his horns would not make for safe play, he was granted some tryouts as a wide receiver, as nobody else on the team could catch the balls their feline quarterback threw.

They never looked back. It seemed as though he could line himself up wherever the ball fell, even when it was thrown poorly - all the while avoiding dangerous positions on the field. He would sign on that fall and bring his high school team to the state championship in 2010. It was only when he was told to pursue a career in football on the collegiate level did his adoptive parents push back, saying he must learn a practical science. He was forced to move out from under their care and make it through college on his own with the scholarship money that fed his potential UFFL career.

It hasn't been a great road to success for Thomas, but his keen eye for the ball and agility are in stark contrast to other receivers in the draft. Given he focuses more on lining up for the catch, a team with a less-experienced quarterback may benefit from drafting the ibex. However, one should be wary of his below-average speed - and some recruiters believe his long-length horns may come back to haunt him someday…

Rookie Scouting Report

Brock Brezniski: Sandeep is someone who can carve out a niche as a possession receiver. He’s got the big body and strength to fight off smaller DBs, and can catch just about anything within range. His below-average speed means he’s not gonna be a deep threat, but a good coach will see to Sandeep’s strengths and utilize them to the fullest. His horns may be an issue, but that can be resolved easily enough.
