Philadelphia Gray is a rookie offensive linefur for the Baltimore Ponies.
Biography
He has nothing to do with the city, his parents just thought it was a cool name, alright. Somehow he's never even been to Philadelphia, despite that being his name. Also he's more of that mottled series of colors you'll see on Aussie shepherds, maybe some of that bluish gray SOMEWHERE in there. Give it like 20 years.
Born and raised in the suburbs of Atlanta, Philadelphia just had that natural talent for playing line in football. Always kind of a husky kid...I mean he's an Aussie shepherd so...ugh you get the point there. A larger kid but honed through years of the various football programs children go through in Georgia. He gets the job done but with a name that shouts for a big personality, he's got a bit of that personality that calls for the pro leagues
A valued prospect out of high school and courted by half a dozen top programs, Gray opted for the other side of Appalachia, and settled at the perennial college contenders at Southern Cincinnati. Somewhere in the midst of introductions, Gray was asked by a teammate "Philadelphia? Like the cheesecake?". Gray, as he claims, is very unfamiliar with cheesecake and knows even less about the cheeseSTEAK that also takes its moniker from that city in Pennsylvania. For it being his name, he sure has a lot of comic unfamiliarity. Oh well, it builds character. Point is the "Philly Cheesecake" kinda just stuck. There's a video somewhere on social media wherein Gray tries cheesecake to the uproar of his fellow linefurs that became a sort of meme in college football circles during the 2016 season (his freshman year.)
Through his college career, Gray put up numbers worthy of pro consideration. And until this league has some sort of consistency with college records, we can shy away from playoff specifics but know, again, they had enough success that Gray could confidently enter the draft after three successful seasons, notably without injury and notably with a newfound penchant for cheesecake (and cheeseSTEAK too, why not) and STILL never having been to Philadelphia.
Rookie Scouting Report
Brock Brezniski: There’s a part of me that’s hoping this kid gets drafted by Easton... XD But back to the serious part, Philadelphia has the tools needed to be a successful tackle in the league: size, strength, technique and agility. He can neutralize pass rushers effectively and be an asset in the running game, and wherever he goes, his personality will be a big hit with fans as well as his teammates. He just has to make sure he can take care of business, which I have no doubt he will.
