Salvador (Sal) Ortega is a native Texan primate out of El Paso. Despite being very loyal to the Abilene Lancers, a franchise that struggled in its first year (6-10 record), Ortega was sent to the New York Titans in 2015.

The wide receiver entered his ninth year in the league, and demanded high pay. All things considered, New York drafted two rookie recievers (Widmore and Matari) who dominated the field, pushing Ortega to the bench almost immediately.

Ortega's fortunes would take a turn for the worst when he was arrested and accused of attempted assault on Las Vegas cornerback Coby Carson. It is partially to blame for Carson's derailed career (and eventual retirement), and Ortega was later expelled from participation on the Titans, who would go on to win FurBowl II. Reportedly Ortega did not receive a championship ring due to his actions.

Court details are pending, but it seems as though Ortega's football-playing days are over.
