Template:Infobox player Tyler Wirl is a running back for the New York Titans. After being drafted to the Abilene Lancers in 2015, Wirl watched as his rookie team struggled. He elected not to travel to Canada when Abilene became the Montreal Royal, and signed with the Titans in 2016 for a "take it or leave it" one-year contract.

Biography

Tyler "Tornado" Wirl comes from a long line of football players from Penguin University - one of which, Pat Snow, plays in the league. Tyler played HB, FB, and WR. He also played CB and Safety in both Pee-Wee and Junior High. He settled on the offensive side of the ball, most specifically HB. He made this choice after hurting his arm in one game earlier in his playing time. He was regarded as one of the best running backs in his high school's history. He rushed for more than 3,500 yards total, 55 TDs, and also was Illinois's Player of the Year his senior year. He signed to play for Penguin University, where he rushed for 3,876 yards and 43 TDs in his career. He isn't overly fast, but he is a bruiser. He fights for every yard he can get.

Interview

Coaches don't like backs who fumble in the UFFL. What does your back do to help avoid fumbling?

He keeps the ball close to his chest and keeps his head down to prevent having the ball ripped from his arms.

Football players sign contracts with teams to get paid millions of dollars. When your player is signed to a team, are they going to care more about security (staying on a team longer) or money (earning the big $$$) in their contract offer?

He'd care about the security of being in one place for a while, rather than the money. He's not really playing for money. He's playing for the love of the game.

If you asked your RB, "What do you do in your free time?" how would they respond?

He's close to his brother, so he'd call his brother for a bit. He'd also look over some game film. He'd also work on getting himself into game shape. If he's not doing any of these, he's listening to music, as he's laid back.

What is your player doing in the off-season to improve their chances of being drafted higher?

He is actively working hard on making himself faster. He's also making himself stronger by lifting weights.
