Melvin Melvin is a Defensive End for the Richmond Flames in the UFFL.
History
Melvin is the ninth son in a family of 15. He grew up in rural Georgia, the son of a steel mill worker, and always assumed that he'd work in the mill too. But he excelled at football in high school, and attracted the attention of national college scouts. He was offered a full-ride football scholarship to Red River Tech, making him the first person from his family to attend college. He was an all-conference defensive back at RRT, and though the team lost both of the bowl games he started in it wasn't for any lack of effort on the field. He probably could have declared for the draft after his sophomore year, but he wanted to actually graduate (which he did with a degree in Farm Management).
